Nintendo Confirmed Persona 6 Was Coming Home

At exactly 7:00 a.m. Pacific Time today — 10:00 a.m. on the East Coast — Nintendo's September 2026 Direct went live, and for about 45 minutes, a lot of people's winter release calendars got rearranged.
The headline reveal was "Kirby and the World Beyond," a new 3D open-world adventure built around Kirby's copy ability, launching spring 2027 as part of the character's 35th anniversary. Right behind it came "Metroid Ravenous," a new 2D entry following up on Metroid Dread, arriving January 28, 2027 with its own amiibo lineup. But the moment that actually broke group chats was smaller and stranger: after months of Persona 6 being confirmed only for PS5 and Xbox, Nintendo quietly confirmed it's coming to Switch 2 as well — right alongside a "Persona 4 Revival" launch date of May 20.
Toss in Monster Hunter Wilds landing on Switch 2 December 4, Professor Layton's return on December 10, and a stack of ports (Star Fox, Pikmin 4, Mario Kart World updates), and this Direct did what Directs are supposed to do: turn a random Wednesday morning into the moment a dozen release dates suddenly became real.
None of this existed as fact until 7:00 a.m. PT today. A minute before, it was rumor and wishlists. A minute after, it was a release calendar. That's the minute worth keeping.
